Cristina - Sleep It Off

This kind of follows on from my last post about how electronic based stuff can be all kinds of souless?
Or at least numb, cause this is.
In a way, it's like a pre lady Gaga, or at least if you look at "Just Dance" then it is. It's full of the kind of sarcastic mocking mope that the funnier rich people end up with, after a lifetime of excess and no boundaries.
It's sort of empty, and if you aren't drunk, it's sort of depressing as well.
The actual music is like 80's Electronic stuff if it were mashed with the whole no wave scene. Some songs have other bits and pieces in there - it is catchy and pop as well, don't worry, but the actual lyrics are a lot sharper than usual pop fare.
Her first album was a lot more disco based, and I've upped the best song from it here, which at least gives a taste of her vocals, and overall tone (Detached boredom, yo) if not the actual sound showcased on this LP.
(Oh, and another thing - this is the CD version, and the track listing got changed in transition from vinyl to CD, and not really for the better. Still, you're meant to be drunk, you shouldn't care)
(I love ticket to the tropics, and MUTILATE MY MINK)
